More sad news for Nottinghamshire sport

Published on February 10th, 2012

As you may have read on the official site, the club’s former Education Officer Jim King has died suddenly at the age of 73. Mr King, a former school teacher, had initially worked for the club under Sir Brian, and had been instrumental in developing the education programmes that Forest, and particularly Nigel Doughty, had been so proud of.

Jim had also worked with Notts County and with Nottinghamshire CCC; in fact, he and his wife only took a bunch of Notts County youth players to watch Warhorse the other night, ahead of a planned educational visit to France. I can report that the youngsters with whom he is currently working, as well as a number of his former charges, are devastated by his sudden passing.

We would like to offer our condolences to Jim King’s family and friends and assure you that his contribution to Nottingham sport is very much appreciated by those who knew about the work he did.
