The Joy of Forest

Published on December 2nd, 2011

There’s a thread over at the ever-excellent LTLF forum about the most depressing moment watching Forest.

Many of the usual suspects are mentioned:

  • Losing to Yeovil in the playoffs
  • Losing to Sheffield United in the playoffs
  • Losing to Chester in the cup
  • Being relegated from the Premiership
  • Fat Ron going to the wrong dugout

And many more old favourites you wish you’d forgotten.

If you include just “being a Forest fan” instead of actually watching games, I would add:

But I’m beginning to wonder if this is as bad as any of the above. No money, no sign of any investment coming in, a nice-enough manager but not necessarily the most capable in the world, an owner who blatantly doesn’t want to be here any more and a squad who are paid well but look like they have totally lost their way.

Of course, three or four wins on the trot will completely change the situation; however, I can’t really see where we’re going to get that kind of consistency at the moment. Still, could be worse … erm … anyone?
