365 days ago we were 9th in the table, with a positive goal difference.
365 minutes ago we knew how to score goals.
Now, things look bad.
An unchanged team, with an extremely attacking bench, took the game to Crystal Palace from the off. McCleary, in particular, had the better of their left-back Jonathan Parr (remember him? we had him on trial a while back – on this performance we didn’t miss much) and forced two excellent saves from Speroni. That wasn’t our best chance of the first half though – a Chambers’ header forced another fine save, and McCarthy clambered all over the captain, but the referee ignored the blatant penalty.
More chances in the second half – two shots from Radi – and we started to feel like it was one of those days. A cynical challenge by (the otherwise excellent) Greening prompted some handbags – and shortly afterwards, Palace scored, as Cunningham was caught out of position. The welcome return of Dexter Blackstock forced another save from Speroni, but as the clock ran down, the heads finally dropped as we made it four games in a row without scoring.

spectacular ! – billy D arrived 3 seasons ago to save us from slipping back into league one – after being desperately close to getting us into the Prem – the board had to act – and did so to restore everything back to the way they want things – league one for us !
The problem?
Lambert – 21 on target shots in 18 games
Miller – 14 on target in 13
Tudgay – 9 on target in 14
Derbyshire – 2 on target in 12
McGoldrick – 1 on target in 9
Findley – 3 on target in 16
JFH needs to start earning his money.
P.S. Not the only problem of course. Tudgay is patently not suited to the lone striker role. We need to get a strong partnership going (Remember Johnson/ Harewood!)
Good stats Husky .. strong partnerships and understanding between players are a vital key in scoring goals .. at the moment we are hoping to score goals rather than having any method.
