This match is attracting quite a lot of attention, some of it predictably focusing on Little Robbie Earnshaw, some of it pointing out the contrasting fortunes of the two teams since parting with their previous gaffers in the summer, and some of it just because, well, Cardiff are quite good and Forest finding their feet again.
This match will surely come too soon for Dexter Blackstock, almost exactly a year after his career-threatening injury in the same fixture last season (and I still cannot watch the sickening footage). As a result, it will most likely be down to Marcus Tudgay to lead the line, amidst calls from the new gaffer for him to be more selfish.
Beyond that, the Forest squad is still looking a bit thin, as I doubt Ando will be starting just yet, and Boateng and McCleary will probably want more minutes under their belts before being considered. I would imagine that Forest will be unchanged from last weekend, although Andy Reid will surely be pressing for a place after a really impressive cameo last week.
Cardiff’s main injury concern centres on skipper Mark Hudson, but they have an able pair of deputies in Darcy Blake and Anthony Gerrard waiting in the wings. Rudy Gestede is missing, but they still have Joe Mason and some bloke called Robert Earnshaw available to support Kenny Miller up front if necessary.
