So, the venerable guardians of our game decide to fine Forest and Leeds, and for some bizarre reason the Reds were fined £12,500 while Leeds were only fined £7,500. I cannot find anything on the FA website to suggest why, so I have to assume that this is because of Forest having form following the two similar fines after our “disagreements” with the woolly ones last year.
As with the fines following the Derby matches last year, I cannot help but feel aggrieved as despite provocation from Messrs Tyson, Gunter and, erm, Gunter, our opponents were the aggressors on all three occasions. I am, of course, biased.
The bizarre goings-on at Cardiff City continue to make them the least popular team in the division; no disrespect to Leeds and Millwall, but you’ve got to do well to be less popular than them! As the Bluebirds continue their spending spree by adding another Premier League player to their ranks, our very own Little Robbie Earnshaw has confessed that he too is mystified by their purchasing power. Once again, I have to confess to a tinge of jealousy as I think that any/all of Naylor, Keogh and McCormack would potentially have made useful additions to the City Ground playing staff; I suspect that wages would be the stumbling block in all cases, but apparently that is not a concern for Cardiff…

The final point I want to make for now is the mystifying lack of news being reported on the Forest website these days. Confirmation of Chris Gunter’s suspension was only mentioned in passing and the FA fine got only a cursory mention. I am wondering if this is a response to the increasingly vocal criticism on message boards, forums and other outlets? If you put news out there, someone will only jump on it – sad but true, but the current situation reminds me of the accusations of poor PR that were levelled (with some justification in my eyes) at the club in the late nineties and early noughties. Not a criticism as such (especially given some of the meatheaded responses to any story on Facebook, NEP and fans’ forums), but I wonder if anyone else agrees with this observation?
