Scrappy Leeds

Published on August 15th, 2010

Nottingham Forest 1 – 1 Leeds United

The first home game of a new season – normally a time for optimism but following a pre-season that’s seen two exits and two arrivals (if you count Radi’s signing), and it’s doom and gloom if you listen to some.

We lined up in a traditional 4-4-2:

Campo
Gunter Wilson Morgan Bertrand
Cohen McKenna Majewski Anderson
Blackstock Earnshaw

The first twenty minutes were as good as anything we played last year and we could have had two or three in that time, making do with a header from Dex. But Leeds changed formation and then completely snuffed us out – pulling out an equaliser that was almost identical to our goal. A scrappy second half kept Leeds on top (just) – meaning we start the first home leg of the 2010/11 season with a point.
