In case you hadn’t noticed, Reading did us a bit of a favour last night.

Norwich now cannot catch us, making the final relegation spot a battle between them and Barnsley. Also meaning that Sunday’s game is now stress-free!

So congratulations to Billy and the players, congratulations to everyone associated with the club. I said at the start of the season that I would take 21st place and it looks like we will do one better. OK, it was a bit of a roller-coaster but we’ve seen some beautiful football, some absolute dire football and I actually started to like Colin Calderwood (and then he was gone).

And now we have big-mouth Billy Davies, who, if nothing else, has a big job on his hands over the summer. More on that over the next few days …

Huge result last night! Carnival atmosphere guaranteed for Saturday (except away end). Agree alot of work over summer and trying to expand the squad. We can’t have so many loanees.

Oh how the ball turns!!! :p I did say that Calamitywood had to go, I did say that BD would keep us up & I did say to get off his back when we had a 4 game losing streak. (Not neccesarily here but many other places)

I have never played football in an 11 a side team, but I do know how to look at a manager & players close to me and know when a job can be done. I do get it wrong sometimes…. (Last year never expected to go up until the last few matches) but most times I’m right (not that I like saying it but the truth is there).

Well done to CC for bringing in those players at the start of the season. Unfortunatley for him, he just didn’t have the ability to get those players together & take them further when injuries struck.

Billy Davies – One of the 1st things he did was said, the slate is clean and stuck to his word. There was none of putting Nottingham back into Nottingham Forest, no the youngsters will get their chance & throwing them out on loan. Yes, he was public in his criticism which people may or may not agree with but he has done the job right.

Time to relax, enjoy the last match of the season (on Sunday – yes, it’s been a few seasons but it’s nice to hear it for @ least another season again!!) and then we can start worrying on who’s coming or going.

Well done to BD, the players, the staff, the fans as BD said even though for so long many were in doubt (I was cautious but v. hopeful. Let’s not forget the end to last season when the teams fighting for their lives both won against teams going for promotion, which let us in the backdoor).

Finaly, a quote from BD – “To date, it’s Billy Davies’ best achivement” Read into it what you want.

It was a close thing. Didn’t like 0-0 at half time, thought either team could win it. I really didn’t think we would cope with having to win on the last day of the season, even if our opposition had nothing to play for. Just too much pressure. Anyway, won’t worry about that anymore ! Looking forward to a better finish next season.

I genuinley thought that we would have to get a result on the last day of the season. I could just see this perfect symmetry of things from how the results unfolded last season on the last day and us going up to this season and it all going horribly wrong.

So glad we don’t have to worry about that now. Billy has been banging on about ‘When I get these players for pre season…’ Well lets see shall we. I think he has been given much more support and say in how the club should do things than any other manger thats come in. Could it be on the 6th time of trying he’s letting a manager who knows what he’s doing just get on with it? I guess we’ll see about that as well.

“I think he has been given much more support and say in how the club should do things than any other manger thats come in.”

I think that’s very true (even given the transfer window farce).
